Assistance Grants for Patients in Dialysis
Mogollon Health Alliance is able to make need-based, financial assistance grants to dialysis patients, not for treatment, but for ancillary items that might be required with the lifestyle changes and burdens to the family that go hand in hand with treatment, such as wheel chair ramps or safety bars.

Health and Care Fair
Each November, the Community Health and Care Fair is a one-stop destination for people to discover ways to improve their bodies and increase their philanthropic activity. Health care providers are on-hand to give free and low-cost medical screenings. Representatives of civic clubs and advocacy groups are there to help someone in need and share their organization's goals with those who are interested. MHA is one of the principle sponsors.

MHAX III Health Plus
“How can I improve my physical health?”
At MHAX III Health Plus that person can take charge of a key part of the answer: Exercise.
Individuals enroll in MHAX III with a doctor's approval and prescription, then a Personal Trainer and Clinical Rehabilitation Assistant review each of their clients’ health needs and goals to create custom fitness programs. Clients start off on the treadmills, stationary bicycles, weights and exercise balls in a private area inside the Payson Athletic Club but have access to the entire gym.

Fire Department and other community health grants
Overall, eleven rural Gila County fire departments have received assistance from MHA, and $20,000 of the money the MHA Auxiliary raised in 2009 was awarded to rural fire departments in Gila County. The cost of sending a firefighter for EMT or paramedic training is fast approaching $5,000, so these scholarships are just another way the organization has a hugely positive impact on the community. Babysitters have also learned all about safety through Fire Department and MHA sponsored trainings. MHA also partnered with Payson and Diamond Star Fire Departments and placed ten automated external defibrillators or AEDs around Payson—four in police cruisers and six in businesses with lots of public foot traffic.

Gracie Lee Haught Education Resource Center
The education center, conveniently located across the parking lot from the hospital, opened to nursing students on October 1, 2006. Because of the facility, area medical response personnel were able to participate in a cadaver laboratory about the creation and maintenance of airways. Later students were and are able to role-play patient scenarios on medical mannequins (an adult and an infant). Nursing students are able to monitor their mock patient's blood pressure, heart rate and breathing. The $10,000 mannequins can be programmed with gastric and breathing sounds. It can be programmed to vomit, and if students poke its arm for a blood test real fluid comes out. It can also pose as male or female. Health care professional call MHA to inquire: (928) 472-2588.
